Thank you for playing!

I have made the difficult decision to begin winding down Rhombico Games. It’s a bittersweet moment, for sure. I am, at the same time, filled with pride for everything we’ve built, gratitude for everyone who’s been part of the journey, and some sadness for what’s coming to an end. We had a good run, though!

As part of this transition, the development of our upcoming game, “Break, Enter, Repeat”, will be put on hold indefinitely. It’s a project I deeply care about and believe in. And I still hope that, in some form, its vision and spirit may find a way forward someday.

Rhombico has been my creative home for many years. Back in 2016, I was a web developer in Buenos Aires, spending late nights learning Unity just for the joy of seeing things come alive on screen, and to pay homage to my childhood dream of becoming a game developer. What started as a small hobby project (a trading game set in the 18th century) slowly grew into something real. It eventually became “Winds Of Trade” (2017), and with it, Hermes Interactive was born.

With “Automachef” (2019), we took a healthy mix of silly humour and automation as a base to create puzzles about robots and fast food, sharing them with players around the world through our wonderful partners at Team17.

Then came “Power to the People” (2022), developed in partnership with Crytivo, where players took on the impossible task of keeping the lights on for an ever-growing population. It was challenging, hectic, and filled with satisfying explosions and lightning bolts.

Around that time, Hermes Interactive became Rhombico Games, a new brand identity that captured what we love about strategy and complexity. The trigger might have been pointless threats by a company with a lot more lawyers than us, but we were pretty pleased with the new name nonetheless!

After that came “Consumption Line” (2025), a much smaller, more personal experiment: a simple game about industrial food systems. It was different from everything I did before it, but it felt right. It reflected something I’d been wanting to express for a long time: that games can also invite people to reflect about serious topics and convey a message through interactivity.

Throughout all these years, I had the privilege of working with an incredibly talented and dedicated team. Rhombico was not just “my” studio. It was a collaboration of brilliant minds who made projects come alive in ways I could never have done alone. A big shout out to Fredrik, Paul, Artise, Gustavo, Giovane, Todd, Luca, Sascha, Olivia, and everyone else who contributed to our games during all these years.

But before I get too emotional… Now it’s time for a new beginning! I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined The LEGO Group. I’ll continue exploring that same intersection of play, creativity, and technology that has always been at the heart of my work, but this time as part of a company that has inspired me since childhood.

To everyone who played our games, supported our projects, and believed in what we were trying to do: a massive thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Here’s to new adventures ahead!

Federico.
